"For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them... " (them being those that perished in the wilderness), "But the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it." (Heb. 4:2)
When Jesus returns, will He find faith in you? We are not saved one time as in a prayer, deed or ceremony, we are saved "by faith" and "the just shall live by faith."
Oh faithless generation! You who say there is no true religion, there is no persecution coming, there is no working or striving by faith through grace to enter into the kingdom of God.
Believe me! The moment you die, that condition you are in will determine your eternity. As Christians, we are preparing ourselves to meet the Lord Jesus. The condition we are in when that fearful moment comes will be the determination of our individual eternity. It is NOT dependent on something you did or felt or happened to you, but the present state of your soul when it meets the Lord.
Many stake their claim on Justification but never yield to the God who Sanctifies! Such a faithless generation just like faithless Israel. Is this you, dear reader? You cast all your chips in on the crucified Lord? Indeed, that's the glorious start! But do you neglect the Risen, exalted and ruling Lord - who is seated in the heavenlies to grant repentance and forgiveness of sins.
The great wail at the judgment seat of Christ will be the multitudes neglect of this so great a salvation - Jesus Christ the Lord at His seat of rule granting gifts unto men; and no one sought Him there.
