Dear friends, it is with great rejoicing and sorrow I write this email. On one hand, we sorrow for leaving you, our dear friends and fellow labourers in the gospel work! It is also with rejoicing that we report our safe arrival in springfield, MO.
What a whirlwind! Yet, may I report that God was in every detail even working out the larger details of home and job (still working that out). The last day in Little Rock, as we were packing the large truck, I received an email from a job in springfield asking if I would be in Springfield any time soon for a second and face-to-face interview. It was with deep contentment and a smile that I replied, "why, yes, I will be."
Some have considered this move to Springfield to be quite abrupt. To which I reply, "Yes, it is; and a rather inconvenient one at that." This was the hardest move of my life - and I have had many - that even my bones ache today! Jody was the wonderful administrator behind all this; working at each detail she left nothing undone. Wow! Spectacular glimpse of God's grace. And, of course, your prayers of abundant grace sustained us.
Our sights are on China, that is still for sure, and the unreached people groups there where Christ has not been named.
Let me shore this blog up this way: two things I am sensing from God not only for us as a family but also for His family (church) at large - Urgency and Possessions!
1)There is a dying world and unreached people groups that must hear of Jesus and His salvation. Let us set ourselves at the plow to go to this world, in a real and deliberate way, to sacrifice for them and save them.
2)As far as possessions go - Jesus says "Sell all..." So, figure out what obedience to that Command looks like and do it!
Love to all and Rejoicing in that name which is above all names - Jesus!
